Viridian Clear Skin Omega oil

A while ago I tried Organic Clear Skin Omega Oil from Viridian Nutrition and I was really pleased to see how it helped my skin improve over time. This oil is great for breakout-prone skin and when I take it regularly I definitely notice a difference in my skin’s health. It really helps to control breakouts but it also reduces any dryness.

I received my first bottle of this product free of charge in return for my honest review on my blog. Since then I bought it myself several times as it worked so well for me and although I don’t take it regularly now I always buy it when I see it on offer.

If you regularly suffer from breakouts or acne you should definitely consider taking Viridian’s Organic Clear Skin Omega Oil as I have no doubt it will help your skin look better. Continue reading to learn more about the company and the product itself.

Benefits of Omega Fatty Acids

There are different types of omega fatty acids and some are essential to your body (the omega-6s and omega-3s) while others are non-essential (omega-9s). (1)

Essential fatty acids are something that our bodies cannot make so you need to get them from food. On the other hand, non-essential fatty acids such as omega-9s can be made in the body from other fatty acids.

Sources of essential fatty acids (EFAs) include oils such as flax, pumpkin, sunflower; nuts, meat, fish and dairy. EFAs are converted to prostaglandins series one and three (substances acting like hormones), which can lower blood pressure, decrease inflammation, improve the function of your nervous and immune systems, help insulin work, support your vision, coordination, support your skin cell membranes and nourish your brain (2).

EFAs are vital for healthy skin (and hair) and if you don’t consume enough of these essential nutrients your skin will suffer, resulting in a dry, flaky and dull skin. There are also other signs of essential fatty acid deficiency such as dandruff, dull nails and stiff or painful joints. When your body lacks these fats, this will also have a negative effect on your brains, resulting in memory problems, reduced focus and mood swings.

Most of the people get enough of omega-6 fats from their diet, but when it comes to omega-3 fatty acids many people don’t get enough.  Western diets tend to be deficient in omega-3 fatty acids and have excessive amounts of omega-6 fatty acids which promote the development of disease (3). A lower ratio of omega-6/omega-3 fatty acids is better for your health as it is associated with a decreased risk of certain diseases.

Vegetarians who don’t eat fish or seafood are at risk of essential fatty acid deficiencies and they need to get their healthy fats from vegetarian sources which may prove difficult for some.

Viridian Organic Clear Skin Omega Oil – Review

Viridian Organic Clear Skin Omega Oil is a blend of organic oils containing 100% active ingredients, suitable for vegetarians (and vegans). It’s recommended to take two to three teaspoons of a blend a day, preferably with food. One bottle (200ml) will provide you with around 40 teaspoons – I’ve been taking 2-3 teaspoons of oil a day, as recommended, sometimes only one and this lasted me for around a month.

How to use Viridian Clear Skin Omega Oil

I’ve been adding Viridian Clear Skin Omega Oil to my porridge, salads and smoothies. It does have quite a strong flavour so if you add it to your porridge, add only one teaspoon otherwise the flavour will be too overpowering. I think one of the best ways to consume it is by adding it to salads. Never heat it up or put it in hot soup as you will destroy all the benefit of it.

Viridian Clear Skin Omega Oil – The effects

I only had to wait for a few days after I started taking Clear Skin Omega oil before I saw an improvement in my skin. My skin felt softer and looked healthier too which I was really happy about. During the whole month when I was taking it, I was definitely getting fewer breakouts (essential fatty acids are anti-inflammatory). However, I still got some hormonal breakouts which I am not sure whether you can really prevent? I always get them at that time of the month, no matter what supplements I take!

The final verdict

I do believe that Viridian Organic Clear Skin Omega Oil helped my skin look healthier but you have to understand that there are also other factors which affect your skin’s health. If you really want to have amazing skin, you should also avoid eating too much processed sugar, drink lots of water and possibly take probiotics (healthy gut is important for skin health too). You should also be aware that dairy could be the cause of your skin breakouts, so try to eliminate it and see whether it makes any difference.

To improve your skin even further you may also want to consider taking Viridian Clear Skin Complex capsules.

You can buy Viridin Clear Skin Omega oil online from various retailers: Amazon UK, Body Kind (save £3 when you spend £40, code: 3WEB) and even eBay.
